If you are new to the role of caring what other qualities that you will need to become a successful care assistant.  Firstly you have to have an innate interest in people. Without this you simply won’t be able to function in any kind of capacity.  The reason for this is that you are dealing with people on a day-to-day basis in difficult situations who are not necessarily responsive to the standard approach that you would greet anyone with.  They need different levels of care and attention but will respond to the right kind of person.

To this end you will need to display great levels of empathy and understanding with the people that you are caring for.  It won’t be possible to experience their lives but with empathy you will be able to give them the space and time to be able to feed the best person they can be and live the best life they can.
