Working in a school and the importance of First Aid Training

Having worked in a school environment for over ten years I understand the importance of Emergency First Aid Training Courses and having personally attended at least three throughout my time in and around schools.  I would recommend that everybody enrol on at least one basic First Aid Course preferably run by a professional company such as http://www.tidaltraining.co.uk/emergency-first-aid-training-courses/.  Children are accidents waiting to happen, anything from a simple scraped knee to a broken arm, or a small child experiencing a mild asthma attack to witnessing another suffer a full-on anaphylactic shock episode!

Children at home or at school need to feel safe, secure, loved and cared for, and being able to tend to any child with a minor or major medical emergency is a privilege and should always be taken seriously and administered with tenderness and professionalism. The playground in a school is potentially the area where most accidents will happen, though the gym hall or even a classroom can be a dangerous place for a child. Prevention is always better than cure, so check these areas for trip hazards, and always have a medically trained member of staff on duty.

Working with children is an incredible honour and a huge responsibility, it is everyone’s duty at each individual school to keep their young people safe and to be able to look after every child in their care with utmost devotion, patience, tolerance and love. Having First Aid training can only enhance the care and attention given to every child.
