Decoration ideas in purple

The purple is one of my favorite colors. It can be used in a lot of shades, lighter or darker. It is the color of serenity and spirituality, and is composed of red and blue. If the latter predominates, it will acquire a colder aspect, and if the red one is more present it will be closer to the aubergine or the mallow. In any case, it is a color that looks great in the decoration , especially if we want to give it a relaxing touch with its softer version.

Today we are going to see some ideas to introduce it in the decoration of our house. If it is pastel it will look great in a baby’s room, for example, given its tranquilizing effect, and if you want to use its intense version you can use it in the living room or in the kitchen, in an integral way, with small details, alone or combined with other colors. There are many possibilities!

Purple combined with yellow

One of the combinations that I like the most is purple and yellow . They are two colors that marry very well, although always used with some restraint so as not to overload the rooms. You can enter small details in both tones, for example, or a larger piece of furniture in purple with a yellow complement.

Purple walls

Another way to bring the purple, violet or lilac to your decoration is through the walls. My recommendation: if the tone is strong, paint only one wall with this tone and leave the rest white, for example. If it is a softer color you can paint them all, because it will not overload the environment so much.

White and purple, another winning combination

We can also take the purple to our rooms in combination with white. You can do it on the walls, as I mentioned before, and also on the furniture. Especially if the chosen tone is intense the white will contribute to lower it a bit . You can leave the white walls and place some large furniture in purple, for example, or textiles or decorative accessories. Or vice versa, leave the purple for the walls and put on them lighter furniture.

The purple textiles

A simple and light way to decorate with the purple color is through textiles. In the bedroom, it is a color that favors rest and that is why we can use it, without passing, and it looks so nice. You can put it in the bedding , for example, as a detail so that it does not saturate the room too much.

Decorative details

The purple is a color that I like in small doses. Despite being one of my favorites, I am not too passionate when it is used in all the walls of a room or in all the furniture. Therefore, another idea that may be interesting is to use it in the small decorative details of your home : some flowers, a vase, a wall, a special armchair, in bed as we have seen before, some curtains …
