Faced with recent financial results in which their problems loomed when get to grow your user base, and a constant sale rumors, Twitter has taken another leap forward by announcing two new options that give us greater control on the contents that shows us and our interactions.
Both are specially focused on mobile applications, and will be released gradually over the next few days to all users. This is a new option notification setting, and what they have called a quality filter to try to pass overlook the less relevant tweets.
To access these new options have to use your mobile application, click on the icon of notifications and give a new button configuration. In the options appear, the first of which is a filter that can decide not to receive notifications from everyone, but only those related to users that we follow.
And then we have the quality filter, which will activate to see only relevant content. To decide which tweets are of poor quality, Twitter use various types of signals as the source account or behavior. We also save duplicate tweets. This new Quality Filter will not filter the content of the people who follow or people with whom we have recently interacted.
With these two new features Twitter intends to make the user experience a little more pleasant. Giving priority tweets makes quality and reducing noise generated. It remains to be seen whether these measures are sufficient to encourage new users to use the social network.
